Technology outsourcing company Infosys said it posted revenue of $2,651 million (+6 percent) and net profit of $541 million (+5.8 percent) for the first quarter ended June 30, 2017.
Infosys said Q1 fiscal 2018 operating margin at 24.1 percent was flat as compared to Q1 fiscal 2017.
Infosys has retained its guidance for revenue growth at 6.5 percent – 8.5 percent and operating margin at 23 percent – 25 percent for fiscal 2018.

Our initiatives on operational discipline led to record levels of utilization and better realization during the quarter,” said UB Pravin Rao, COO of Infosys. “Our new services and software offerings are helping us strengthen our positioning in the market.”
Infosys reveals client wins
Infosys has revealed the latest client wins.
Edgewell Personal Care, a US-based consumer products company, has selected Infosys to transform its ERP to drive the company’s IT innovation. Over the next 1-2 years, Infosys will deliver SAP S/4 HANA solutions in North America and Asia.
“These solutions will enable us to deliver significant process simplification and operating efficiencies. We migrated our manufacturing system to SAP S/4 HANA and the project went live in May 2017. Infosys is engaged in migrating our Order to Cash and Financial Systems to SAP S/4 HANA for North America and also deploying the SAP S/4 HANA template solution to our Asia Pacific markets,” said Tony Bender, CIO of Edgewell Personal Care.
PrimeRevenue, a working capital financial technology company, has tapped Infosys for optimizing its data architecture to support processing billions of dollars in supply chain finance transactions every month.
“We also continued to drive grassroots innovation in every project through our Zero Distance (ZD) initiative. We started this program in March 2015, and more than 16,500 ideas have been produced, of which more than 2,200 have been implemented with clients globally,” said Wes Dean, CTO of PrimeRevenue.
Myer, a department store group in Australia, leveraged Infosys Zero Distance idea and deployed the My Picker App for fulfilling retail orders.
“Our My Picker App has a strategic relevance for Myer, significantly reducing the time to pick and pack orders by 20 percent, driving down the labor cost of fulfilment by an estimated $1.8 million based on FY17 units and rapidly growing our omni-channel business,” said Mark Cripsey, chief digital and data officer at Myer.
Myer reduced fulfilment duration target from 32.5 hours to 24 hours, and increased its pick success target from 85 percent to 90 percent.
Infosys partnered with Levi Strauss & Co’s e-commerce business to build a first party data analytics solution on AWS.
“The solution, built by Infosys, enables consumer insights of clickstream and e-commerce data to activate consumer revenue growth actions across marketing touch points,” said Abigail Johnson, senior program manager eCommerce, Levi Strauss & Co.
ERM, a global sustainability consulting company, has selected Infosys to use technology and data to transform business.
“In our recent Design Thinking engagement with Infosys, we believe we have taken the initial steps to transform our ways of thinking about sustainability challenges and mapping them to the Digital Technology ecosystem,” said Keryn James, group chief executive of ERM.
BP partnered with Infosys Consulting to assist its team to think out-of-the-box and transform its HR onboarding process.
“This led to innovations for us around our use of mobile, virtual reality and other digitally-centric experiences that will give our employees an enriching, unique connection to BP,” said Olivier Dubuisson, employee experience director at BP.
Infosys has delivered Design Thinking innovation engagements for Adient regional centers globally, to enable and accelerate digital transformation. Adient is the global leader in automotive seating.
Infosys worked with Spark NZ for design thinking-based leadership programs for their high potential talent and teams.
Masco Corporation is utilizing Infosys for advanced analytics landscape and drive the predictability of sales and effectiveness of business.
“As part of this effort, the Infosys Nia team helped us align our sales data across years and analyze the historical data, the effectiveness of our strategy and the impact of our decisions across various channels,” said Viren Shah, CIO of Masco Cabinetry.
The Commercial Bank, Qatar, completed a pilot on a cloud-based blockchain network with Infosys Finacle.
“This pilot has demonstrated the immense potential of blockchain to provide the best customer experience for our clients and given us a glimpse of what more we could do on this powerful platform,” said Joseph Abraham, chief executive officer of Commercial Bank.
The Nature’s Bounty has partnered with Infosys to transform and upgrade HR, compensation and payroll processes to to streamline and improve HR processes, and meet global rollout deadlines.
“Infosys implemented solutions to automate processes including CEO approval workflows, self-service applications for end users, an analytics dashboard for management, and a custom tax calculation for payroll,” said Elaine McLaughlin, senior director – Payroll and HR Systems, Nature’s Bounty.
MauBank, Mauritius, has adopted the Infosys Finacle Leasing Solution.
“Finacle Leasing Solution will help us scale our leasing operations and boost productivity, positioning the service line as a key business driver,” said Sayyad Khodabocus, head – IT Applications, MauBank.
